Over the years, we have expanded into hatching chicks, turkey poults, ducklings and pheasant chicks.

We are now located in Grafton, Ontario, having moved here in 1982, with the business now being run by Wilf Venema and his family. We continued to grow, and in the fall of 1999 we began construction of a new hatchery. The first hatch out of our new facility was in the spring of 2000. Through the support of the Ontario “backyard poultry” industry we still continue to grow.

MillPond Hatchery has a capacity of 150,000 eggs, allowing us to hatch up to 50,000 chicks a week. All of our hatching eggs are sourced here in Ontario from quality hatching egg producers, all of whom are registered, regulated and monitored by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. We too are registered, regulated and monitored by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

All of our product is hatched right here in our own hatchery and shipped immediately to our customers, allowing our product the best start possible, resulting in optimal performance.

Our family and staff are committed to paying very close attention to detail, sanitation, poultry husbandry and poultry health practices to ensure that the product coming out of our hatchery is the best it can be for our customers.
